Created for the Isla of Riso Open Call in June 2025 with the theme "Islands". The artwork explores the idea of the page and the bounds of the image itself as an island - breaking the walls of it's reality in a gently surreal, but serene image.

Risograph is a sustainable ink produced from soy or rice, it is a naturally made product and completely biodegradable. Artworks are reproduced in a similar fashion to screen printing in layers, mixing colours with pre-set 'spot' colours. Using different percentages, you can blend colours to create new mixes. Misalignment is a natural part of the process, as colour layers are semi-manually built in-turn, resulting in each print being slightly unique.
